So the rumors are "official" as rumors can be (especially in this industry, where rumors are really a pre-press release usually leaked by the party in question). The word on the street is that Google is planning on releasing a gPhone in early Q1 2008. They've been in stealth mode on the mobile front -  buying up mobile tech co's with slight to none fanfare.

I think the suite of Google products would work nicely on a mobile device but they need to give it some sexy. The cheeky g-phone, released on a Samsung, with a totally ergo interface?  Let's hope Google snatches up a stellar marketing team in their acquisitions as well.
